My Family Focus columns that I’ve written for The Resident, a magazine in NYC.
This site was born from email answers to questions from my friends. If you were my friend, this is what I’d tell you, these are the books I’d suggest, and I’d offer up my full explanation—complete with my own questions and current challenges. I have the time and the inclination to research a lot. I believe parenting can be thought through and learned, much like anything else, and the emotions it brings forth in all of us demand attention if we truly expect to succeed.

You've found a place to pause and re-set your parenting vision!
Are you a loving and thoughtful parent who wants an even stronger connection with your children?Does parenthood sometimes feel like you're caught in a whirlwind with no chance to sit back, catch your breath, and reflect? Parenting is the most important thing we do with the least amount of guided training. I’m here to help guide you down the path of reflective parenting, with information and theory rooted in neuroscience and developmental theory and my own experience as a mother and an educator.
